There have been a number of tributes to Canada's Military deployment into Afghanistan. Thanking those who are serving and in remembrance to those who have paid the ultimate price.

By way of a token, here's a tune which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

It's called the "Highway of Heroes by Ginny McIlmoyle

Another tune "Maples of the Valley" was composed and sung by Ron Way as a tribute to his Grandfather who received the Military Medal in the Battle of the Somme during WW I.

He sang it before a groups of school children as they visited the Seaforth Armouries in Vancouver during Living History project as part of the "Tell the story" program sponsored by V.A.C. in Vancouver.

It's a heart touching song:

Maples of the Valley

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and your country’s military personnel.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom to choose.
